Welcome aboard! I'm fairly new here myself. There seems to be alot of knowledge here especially concerning the 1st gen Hemi's so I'm sure someone can give you some help. I would guess it would be fairly easy to get the horsepower you are looking for without SC or TC'ing. What part the Bluegrass Stat...

http://www.enginehistory.org/_vti_bin/s ... /index.htm

The GAA and GAF tank engines were originally from a V-12 Ford built as mentioned on this site.

As far as being OHC or combustion chamber shape I've no idea.

If I could remember half this stuff I did up.... :o

They would be something different for sure. Would be kinda like the AMC Rebel Machines...everyone would be calling it "this" and "that" and never getting it right... A Dodge Demon with a hopped up six would be neat.....hard to find a Demon anymore though. Was always one of my fav...

Australian "Hemi" Charger

An aricle on a nice old Aussie car. Someone was smoking crack at the factory when they called it a "Hemi" but it was an awesome little car.

I haven't read a review yet on the newer SSR but the older ones were heavy and slow. They built it for looks instead of speed to start with. Kinda the same deal with the F150's. 5.4's were designed for low and midrange torque and not high rev drag racers. SSR is ok if thats what ya like (and people ...

I heard of the Aussie 265's a long time ago but haven't seen but maybe one pic of one. I thought they were a Hemi also... strange. I'll see what I can find on them and post a link up. I agree it's kinda strange to stick the Hemi name on something that isn't. Makes me feel like they think we are so d...

I think there were a few other configurations but I've forgotten so much stuff that I've read it's unreal. Pontiac had an SOHC inline six that was a really cool mill in the 60's. http://www.highperformancepontiac.com/features/0207hpp_overhead/ Some history on the Peugeot cars (just realized I spelle...

Thanks for the thoughts freebird. Yep. I thought of mentioning that this topic has been around for some time. NASCAR didn't want "showroom" parts but production engines. The 427 that Ford came up with sneaked out the doors in a few Galaxies and Mercuries but was never an "official&quo...

245/70-17 to your 275/60-20 is one alternative. They come stock on some models.

Hey HEMICharger,
If you can run across the article again on the engine height deal stick it on here. I'm a little curious. I'm thinking there shouldn't be much of a difference between an OHV and an OHC but I may be missing something.

Checked your website out... thanks for the link ! very nice.

To quote myself (not a good idea at times... :D ) "There "CAN'T" be a 4 valve per cylinder Hemi DOHC due to the valve angles. Each cylinder would look like a porcupine" Get a softball and some of those little suction cup darts that those little kiddy guns shoot...stick 4 of the d...

I wish I still had the article on it. There was a write-up about the A925 project in a major car magazine in the late 80's (i think). The cam bosses cracked as mentioned while the engine was spun by an electric motor. The engine never ran under its own power. A guy ended up with one of them and it w...

I didn't care much for the new 300 at first but I'm ok with it now. It's not meant to be the same type of car the Charger is though. However IMO the new Charger is just rediculous. It's another case of GM by "lets see how many nametags we can put on the same platform" I hope the Challenger...

That would be a fun job ! If you are handy with wiring harnesses and mounting the computer etc it could be done. Not sure how fast a rocket ship you would have with that big ole heavy thing though ! Cool thread. I've read the article on the actual hp output that DPelleti posted also. I've read a few different places that the 340's ouput was at 300-320hp depending on the 4bbl or six-pack version. They were an awesome little engine. A friend has a 74 Cuda with a 340 that was basically 1970 spec a...
