I doubt I can help much.I have a L8D4 Out in the garage I could dig it out tomorrow but I don't know if the info would help or not.It's been so long since i've looked at it I don't remember where the dipstick is located.

Leo's book shows two and four barrel on 58 354 polys.The ID number on the front of the block might give some more info.

58S shows a 354 poly,1958 Saratoga in my books.Must be a conversion.
I've got a we56(331 poly) with 354 heads.Found it in an irigation pump still working away after who knows how many years.Sounds like a good find!

I had the same problem with my 392.All the pistons were stuck.Took off all the main caps and then the rod caps.The rod caps took most of a day to remove.I put a bottle jack under the snout of the crank and one under the torque converter snout and jacked it up real slow!Got the crank out without a sc...
