Re: Piston vs Cam

Hard to tell what they are from the pictures. Year of Car or Boat application?

On the older model pistons the numbers were on the inside skirt. Those look to be higher compression to me.

Re: Oil... What's in your crankcase?

I have had similiar luck with Sythetics like Mobil 1. I had a turbo Shelby that went for 130K before I sold it. Took the head off once to change the gasket and the engine looked like brand new inside. No browning of the metal surfaces, the cylinder walls still had the hone marks on them. I was sold....

Re: 331 Marine Hemi

The copper gaskets they used to use are notorious for leaking coolant / water. I just tore apart two engines that were both leaking between the cylinder walls.

I have the same pistons in my 354 Marine engine. Did you ever identify them?

Re: Help identify 2 Chrysler Royal Marine Engines

I have been selling off the marine components of mine to make back the money I paid for them. They were run in fresh water and sat in storage for 4 decades. Mine are in great shape inside. They are like time capsules. :)

Origin of This Distributor?? Military / Government?

All take a look at this distributor / coil set up and tell me where you have seen it before? I believe it is U.S. military or government issue for the Chrysler 331 / 354's. One person told me he thought they were used on M113-APV's. Could use some other references. IMG_0052.JPG IMG_0046.JPG IMG_0062...

Re: 331 M45S Chrysler Marine Engines - two

Yes they do. Here is a picture of the Distributor unit. Apparently these were used in M-113? APV units. But this must have been a marine unit of some kind as there is one counter rotating engine.

331 M45S Chrysler Marine Engines - two

Looking for anyone interested in one or both of these Chrysler Marine Hemi's for a boat restoration project. Otherwise I will have to convert one into an engine for my car. :) But I thought I would offer it up for someone who really wants to restore with an authentic untouched engine(s).
