Same intake as mine. This one came off a D700 Fire truck. I adapted two General Motors 2GC carburetors on it. They are 350 CFM each.

Re: I am still alive

Here is the gas tank that I found and reworked. I blasted it, coated it with 3 coats of Rustoleum oil based black, two coats of Rustoleum oil based silver and then splattered it with red primer to look like rust. I know real rust wouldda look cooler, but I ain't getting rust anywhere near my fuel sy...

Re: I am still alive

Here's the truck itself. I think the dually rear end made it look mean. I will be adding the one ton suspension on the front as well.

I am still alive

And have made slow progress. We are going through some really tough times. Down to one vehicle. I totaled my Ranger in February. Have been trying to get a piece at a time to get the Hemi closer to being in the rat truck. Got the dually rear end under it. Lots of other stuff done to the Hemi since I ...

Hemi News

Well I muttled through some difficult finalcial times and kept the Hemi. So far, I have cleaned it, installed cam bearings, freeze plugs (thank you Mr. Waters!) installed new core plugs and oil gallery plugs. I got my new pistons in from Egge last week. They are stock replacement 1955 style 8.5:1. I...

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness

Yeah. I caint figure it out. There are a couple large chips taken outta the bottom of two cylinders. I was thinkin maybe it busted a cylinder and they sleeved it......but then, why the hell bore it to .030"? ....unless maybe the sleeve job was done WAY back when and done to STD and then it was built...

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness

I understand. It has the 331 casting number. However, I found out today that the cylinder head probe was actually correct all along. Some cylinders read as little as .077" in places. Why? Simple. Somehow at sometime, the block has had 8 sleeves installed. The tester was reading the sleeve thickness....

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness

You didn't. While you cannot understand why someone wants to bore the hell out of an engine, likewise I cannot understand why some people think there's only one way to skin a cat. No piss or cheerios involved. You just assumed that part.

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness

Maybe I'm just old and thick headed, but why does anyone want to make giant bore cuts on these engines? You can easily exceed the perceived gains in power simply by using forged pistons at 10:1 compression. The standard bore 354 castings that are on the market may or may not actually make the 9:1 a...

Re: 331 Cylinder thickness

I am waiting on a correct size transducer for our sonic tester to test cylinder bores. We have the smaller transducer now, but it is for cylinder head ports and does not give a correct reading for bores. If there is any interest, I will post some numbers for my 56 331. I plan on boring to 354 STD bo...

Re: How to go green -- Obama style!

Well the way I see the "green movement" is like this. Since Al Gore is the talking head, as long as we're all as green as he is, we're ok. His electric bill is about 15K a month, so I think we're some green sumbitches in comparison.
