It's still a shame that's its a 4 door. If they're gonna use the name Charger it should AT LEAST be somewhat like the old one. The price sounds good. It will never hang with the new LS2 400 h.p. GTO though. It'll take the SRT-8 for that.... although the GTO will be much,much cheaper. Dodge should ha...

My buddy has a Chevy HD with some mods (unsure about what all he has). But the truck runs 9.0's in the 1/8 mile. Extended Cab 4x4 as well.

That would run pretty close to a New GT.

I've always given a vehicle 500 miles to break in and then drive it like you want to. I also change the oil at 1,500 miles to the oil that I planned to use. This removes any particles that might be in the engine from the break in period. My last truck had 5,000 miles on it when I put my 150 shot of ...

I wouldn't think doing this would cause Piston damage or any damage to the engine. Basically your just getting a better spark. As long as the A/F ratio is kept correct and their is no lean condition then the MORE spark the better. Wouldn't adding a MSD box and Coil on a Conventional Ignition system ...

Motortrend has their 0-60 at 7.4 and the 1/4 mile at 15.3@88. The truck weighs about 4800 (same as a RC Ram) and has the 5.3L with 300 h.p. and around 330 ft lb's. I think the 1/4 mile time is a little overated. I've heard many reports that their really high 15/ low 16 second trucks. However Chevy d...

Mike Leech does some custom tuning for the 4.7L engine and this may be who your refering to. He does good work. I test drove a 2000 4.7L auto with 3.92 gears before opting for the R/T and it was definitly sluggish unless you layed it to the wood. The R/T on the other hand was smooth and strong all t...

Looking at your numbers, it looks like your truck is falling off slightly in the 1/4. A 9.5 in the 1/8 should equate to around a 14.8@91 mph. Your 9.44 should have netted you around a 14.72@92 mph. The 1/8 mile time looks very good though, especially since the Hemi doesn't really come alive till the...

They have the estimated 1/4 mile in the high 13's. They already run that. I think low 13's would be a better guess.

I'm unsure about Denso. But NGK has a 1 step colder and a 2 step colder plug. I ran the 1 STEP for N/A and the Step colder for N20. The MSD helps with gas mileage slightly on the 5.9L. Don't expect any big H.P gains. HOWEVER... if you use N20 then a good Ignition system is critical. The MSD Digital ...

Well we know the rear end will work, but the driveshaft may not mate to the new 5-45RFE tranny since you have the 46RE. Let me ask you this though.... why are you switching? I do agree that in stock form the Hemi is a better design than the 5.9L. The Hemi makes in some cases 80-90 more rwhp. The Tor...

Yes I understand that. The 5-45RFE is used behind the 4.7L as well. I know of a couple of 4.7L owners that use AMSOIL in these trannies. One is a direct Vendor for AMSOIL. Dodge went to the ATF+4 because it is Semi-Synthetic. Better lubrication and less heat. AMSOIL is fully synthetic and will yield...

My Dakota RT with the 46RE Tranny also required ATF+4. If you read on AMSOIL's website you will find that the AMSOIL universal ATF fluid is fully compatible with any tranny that uses ATF+4. I ran it in my Dakota for 50,000 without a single problem and it always looked new when changed. I also took t...

Tips on protecting your Tranny

I know a lot of you guys know these things, but a lot of people don't so here's some ideas. 1. Change your fluid and the Filter every 30K miles under normal driving. I think 15-20K is a good idea if you race a lot or have a High H.P. Application. AMSOIL Universal Trans fluid is A++ stuff. I have use...

However I have heard reports of people not lossing any gas mileage and evening reporting some gains due to the engine being in it's powe...

IMO this would be an excellent mod. The Hemi makes power in upper rpms. The 4.56 gears would propel you to these rpms quicker. I believe their is only a 300 rpm increase at 70 in OD. Noticable but still very streetable. Their should be no negatives to this mod at all.

Very true. 425 h.p. on Tap. Hopefully this will make it into the 1/4 tons. The article I read only mentioned using it in the SRT-8 I believe. Still, this engine in a Reg. Cab 1/2 ton would still be fast.

47RE:

4 = 4 forward gears
7 = Strength or durablity rating
R= Reverse
E= Electronic

5-45RFE:

The first 5 does stand for the number of forward gears, the 2nd 5 is the strength rating of this tranny.
