re-introducing myself and my projects

I’ve been away from this board for quite a while, so thought I’d re-introduce myself and show my completed and current projects. I got my 57 Plymouth done in time to take it to Tulsa in 2007 to watch them dig up the 57 Plymouth that had been buried in 1957. It’s a 1956 354 (.060 PAW cam, and custom ...

Re: How to Article - "Home built dual plane HEMI intake"

Got to admire the ingenuity and workmanship. Not to take anything away from the project but here is another option that may be a bit easier if you can braze. I picked this intake up with a bunch of parts many years ago…..it’s a modified 2BBL intake that appears to have been built with an old “U Fab ...

As far as the pan goes, it will depend on what car your going to put the engine in. The Hemi's are pretty well supported by the aftermarket. As far as factory pans, the 51-56s passenger cars pans were rear sump and the 57-58 392's were center sump. If you happen to be putting it in a 57-61 MOPAR you...

The catalog I have shows 817s as Small and Big Block Chevys. It lists 812s as the number for the early BB Chryslers and Early Hemis.

Cams Lifters and pushrods

I'm getting ready to freshen up a couple of early hemi's (55 331 and 56 354) and will be putting new cams in both. These are both going to be used in drivers, and I am looking at hyrdraulic cams a .430 lift (the Racer Brown cam sold by Hot Heads) or .440 lift (sold by PAW). The 354 is going into a 5...

From 1951 to 1958 Chrysler Corporation built the early style Hemi in a total of 13 different displacements. Chrysler, DeSoto and Dodge each had their own unique engines with virtually no interchangeability of parts between the different divisions engines (Plymouth was the stepchild with no Hemi offe...

Hi from new member

Found this frorum yesterday and wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm a 50+ semi-retired mechanic who started out in a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in the late 60's where I got my first exposure to both the early Firepower and 426 Hemi's. I am currently in the initial phase of building my 57 P...
