You don't even have to cut it. Just un-clamp it at the muffler, and put a 3" turndown. That's what I did, and it gives it a much lower rumble, but not much louder (and no pipes sticking out)

Hey, my neighbor and I have similar trucks (except I have the HEMI). We are both going to do exhaust, and I'm getting the Magnaflow 14589 for mine. I told him about this muffler and he wants one too. Will this fit the 4.7 also? If not, does anybody know the part number for the 4.7 (2003)? Thanks, Greg

OK, I removed the resonator on my '04 and put a turndown right after the muffler. Now I've been told by a mechanic (not a dodge mechanic) that it will void my warrantee. He also said that without the resonator on there will not be enough back pressure and I will end up with burnt valves or something...

"+20 HP speed chip" you see on ebay. I've seen a post someplace where people modify the IAT with a resistor. What exactly does it do, and what is the value of this resistor? Just curious.

OK, went and had a 3" turn-down tip made and got rid of everything past the muffler. Good low end rumble, and my mileage went up by 1 to 2 mpg on the freeway this morning!! Can't wait to get the money for the muffler...

Looking under my truck, there is the large muffler next to the drive shaft, and a smaller one over the axle. Is it easy to put the muffler and a turndown right behind it (the one over the axle is not...
