331-354s are narrower than 392s. Around 1958 or 59 Gordon Potter put a stroked 392 with about 460 cubic inches into a 55 T-bird without to much problem. Krooser, I have approximately 20 , Ind 56 motors and 10 56A motors and about 5 392 motors , all have hydraulic cams, and water passages in the heads. 331/354 heads
The later 331 heads had 1 15/16" intake valves and the 354 heads had 2" intake valves as did the 392 , Dean
