You asked me for a 392 block, the one that the bore size was listed. There was no need to measure it again. Sold it for $600 after baking and shot blasting it for the new owner. I have a couple of bare core 354 blocks, I will sell for $100 bucks each. Never sold a bare one though, most are looking f...

You may want to edit this ALSO> I already posted this twice, but I was referring to the 331, NOT 354 or 392 in reference to the .375" wall. I was quiet specific about it too. But go ahead, knock yourself out. Bore, thicknesses should be as follows: 331 ~ .350 - .375 354 ~ .275 - .300 392 ~ .250...

Johny did you find your mic to get the crank sizes? My customer also wanted a copy of the sonic check report on the block you were doing last year. Plus, could you post real clear pictures of the heads' surfaces and chambers. I need to give him a ball park estimate how much it will cost to get them ...

Any good commercial automotive machine shop can sleeve the block. You shipping it off somewhere will cost more than the sleeve work.

Get some casting numbers from the parts and post them, it could be lots of different engines with a custom made crank to keep the inches down.
Smallest Marine hemi was a 270 inch motor.

a 4 inch bore 354 is a couple of thousands over 60 and should be fine. .0625 to take it to 4.00. more than that it is leaning over the line.

I have taken a thick cylinder block to 4.030 but it was a full fill block.

"Perhaps the industrial blocks with the lower hole in the front and '51-'54 early blocks are the same."

They are the same and Bob probably has the correct bracket, just order the correct year parts.

That is an excellent picture of the 64-65 Marine conversion of the factory race hemi engine. It also shows the exhaust system that caused the absolute most damage to marine engines. The water was injected into the exhaust at the high point and was always back flowing at shut down filling the cylinde...

The water passages are the same, the water outlets on the ends of the heads are different. You can use as is and use some sort of crossover for the water or plumb and cool each side seperately.

The costs involved in using an extended bell 331 are MUCH higher than any other automobile 331 Chrysler Hemi engine. This is the reason they sell for such low cost. Modifing the block, then buying an adaptor, or using it as is and buying an adaptor then changing the entire top end (heads intake car...

"Are there other options other than new covers"

Yes, thicker head gaskets. Add the amount decked and milled to .040 and order that thickness gasket or stack copper gaskets.

That is a common problem when people over look the instructions for use and INSTALLATION of head studs. Some even install the studs them selves in the wrong location. Also ARP is famous for incorrect length fastners. If you milled both the deck and the heads they may have to be custom made but very...
