Re: Earliest 426 HEMI Casting
That sure is an early casting date on the block. I have seen earlier casting number on other hemi parts for the 1964 hemi build as early as August. I was under the impression that these early block were prone to failure. The Nascar stories say that the blocks failed under testing at around 400 miles...

Re: Unrestored, Canadian '69 HEMI Chargers?
As for 1969 Hemi Chargers shipped to Canada in any body style, the totals are atleast 37 produced. Of the 37 produced, 1 Hemi Charger was an NON R/T hemi Charger, 5 of these were Hemi Daytonas, and the number of Hemi Charger 500s, there are a few different figures but if compared to the Daytona ther...

Re: Johm Petrie's Factory Pro-Stock 'Hemi Cuda'????
Mark, you have put a spark in me and I will pull in a few favors and track this car down. When I do I will either purchase the car and put a Pro Stock style Hemi in it as John had or will contact you and give you all the information so you can purchase the car.John Petrie lived near to me when I was...

Re: 426 Hemi no casting or VIN numbers
426 Hemi Blocks were cast up to around 1974. Most of the later blocks had high nickle content. All you had to do was walk into you local Chrysler Dealership and order up a block. The last bunch of Short Block hemis I saw come out of Chrysler were for sale at Mancini Racing in Detoit in 1978.

Re: Hemi Rims?
You would have to post more information from the rim. Look on the inside and tell us the size.Next look near the valve stem and relate to use what is on both sides of the stem hole. This would tell use plenty about the date code of the rim. If there is a casting number under the valve stem post it a...

Re: Johm Petrie's Factory Pro-Stock 'Hemi Cuda'????
Yes the Cuda still exists but I have not kept track of it over the last 4 years. Most owners of the Cuda have no clue of its Heritage in Drag Racing. The last 3 owners of the Cuda had no clue it was John Petries car since it has had paint changes and other body mods. There are things on the car that ...

Re: 426 HEMI HEAD CASTING DATES
The L stands for Dec. the other dates are the day and the year. So it goes month, day, year. A-Jan. B-Feb all the way down to L-Dec. next is the day, next is the year. Not all hemi head have a casting date on them.In 1963-4, heads that would of been put on a 1964 Car seldom have a casting dates.

Scott the local Chrysler sponsored guy from back in the 60s and 70s was John Petrie. John Petrie from Fairport Beach, Ontario Canada I believe might of had two different darts. One of the Darts was sold to someone in New Bruinswick Canada and then John Brown of Pen. USA owned it.That car is still so...

Scot I believe that these car were built in two big bunches.I use to collect the serial numbers of these car but do not anymore. The serial numbers are mostly all in a row in the two bunches and the serial numbers that fall in between these numbers could also be super stock Darts or Cudas.

Scott I use to run the standard bore 12/1/2 to 1 in my car out of a 68 Barracuda but now run 12/1/2to 1 aftermarket 30 over piston.I also have in the same motor a factory cam shaft that came out of the same Barracuda.I spun the cam on a dial gauge and got 563 intake and 543 exhaust after you calcula...
