True, but the BO29 and LO23 cars were modified by Hurst Campbell Enterprises and then shipped back to the Chrysler plant for distribution.

My apologies on the canted 427, i've touched so many big block fords they are starting to run together it was the 385 series motors that had canted valves. But that really just goes to show my argument about the effectiveness of a straight wedge head. However, i regret to say, it doesn't explain why...

In several ways this engine does not fit our idea of a Hemi, but in several ways this engine still is a Hemi. What makes the hemi the spectacular performer it is, lies in the valv train lay out. Laterally oposed valves, the air charge is direct and it reduces bottle knecking of the ports as they mee...

I hate that thing. Its horrible looking, it doesn't even resemble a muscle car. Chrysler has done so well with filling niches with this new platform, why won't they fill the 3 door sedan with big V8 niche. I'll buy a rustang first.

Yeah the Stage V Hemi conversion is minus the secret 5th headbolt, so they bolt onto B or RB blocks. Theres a guy at www.bigblockdart.com who has a 67 Dart with a 542 Stage V Hemi RB that runs 11's with a 3.54 a 2200 RPM stall some sort of high performance tires. Come to think of it I think its Stev...

Hemi Cam in a 440?

I saw picture of a 440 on a website once. It was of a 440 on a dyno stand, and the caption below said Hemi cammed 440. How would this work? I thought Hemi cams had different lobe patterns, if this truly did work what kind of power gains could be expected? B/W: I've seen hemi cams in 440's with the S...

this is very true......... there isn't tons known about it. i bought a book about a year ago that had a section devoted entirely to hemi engines. All that was said is that it was 32 valve, 426 cubic inches, twin cam, and a 16 branch intake manifold and its rumored to have had over 900 horses with a ...

300C= barn Door, it'd take alot of work to make that car abide to NASCARS basic car design rule. Its not a feasable project in my opinion. I could however see a Magnum sedan being a bit closer to whats required, but it too is very square with the exception of the front facia. Now, if u remember Chry...

Toyotas may not be as fast as Hemis but Toyota builds a strong pickup truck. I had a 1995 Tacoma with a 3.4L Dohc 6 cylinder and a 5 speed. Let me tell you what we could fill the bed up with a load of limestone for the drive way and it'd run 70 mph up hill. And we put 250K hard miles on it before it...

Where are all of the Cammers then? I mean seriously ones bound to pop up somewhere i see pictures here and there but not enough to hint at 2500 Cammers in existence Ya know what i mean?. if the 2500 were true then our beloved Hemi would not be the king.

Well if you know so much than lets hear it smart guy. You can tell me i'm wrong but i want to know why i am wrong. I'm stimply stating what i've been told byt the likes of Dan Dvorak, and several other old beer drinking drag racers who could put hemi's together with their eyes closed.

No the ZL1 was whiped out in one race by the Hemi. Its time on the drag strip was short and pointless, and the ZL1 was ultimately retired to road racing (CANAM crap) status. The 426 Hemi is a fine street mill but not a great one, the hemi was esigned as a nascar engine first thus it was designed to ...

But the 427 is comparable to the hemi in several ways. I have had a hand in building a little of everything and the Ford 427 High Riser and an original BO29 Hemi are by far the 2 finest machines i have ever had the pleasure of working with. The Ford 427 is a good engine. Its second the only the hemi...

It wasn't so much the limited production that put the screws to the 427 and Hemi cammers as that they were very dangerous. The 427 Cammer for example had a 7 foot timing chain that had a tendency to "explode" throwing links everywhere. High power engines with over head cams are dangereous ...

Actaully little dude the Ford 427 is one of the reasons that the 426 Hemi was developed. While not a Hemi the Ford 427's canted valve design is a very effective design at high RPM. Thus in the early days when chrysler raced the 426 Max Wedges in NASCAR they fell to 427s more often than one might thi...
