That is a pretty interesting theory, I could see that.
It would be hard to sell a $45K 500-hp Ram if there
is a $3K add-on for a $25K Ram to also get 500-hp.

1) It should not be too hard of a task to undertake. 2) We are still waiting for a SC to actually be sold. I believe the hold up is cracking the PCM so that it can be updated to accomodate the new air charge. I dropped another message to KB to see what they have to say about their progress. Not that...

Rumors of a Hemi Mopar Kit

Rumors are floating around that Dodge might be getting ready to release a performance package for the Hemi to include an updated PCM and maybe fuel injectors. Price was somewhere around $1100. No real hp #s provided. Not sure of this is vaporware or really something coming. But that would be cool to...

Truck 5.7 vs Car 5.7

What kind of differences are we going to see?
I assume the car version has speed density, too.
Basically the same motor with a different flash?

So Chrysler did produce a few 301 Hemis in 1951? Was it only in 1951? Is this documented anywhere? The 354 is a 331 with a larger bore. What is a 301? Even smaller bore than the 331? Any more details? I would love to add it to my Hemi database if I can confirm some info. Serial pad values would be n...

Sounds like it really is a S22 engine. 291 DeSoto FireDome Hemi.
I think the owner is willing to sell the engine for $400 if anyone has
an interest in a 291 DeSoto. Drop me a line if you have an interest.

DeSoto S27 Models

I got this message the other day:
HEY I HAVE A COMPLETE DESOTO FIRE DOME EIGHT # S2769844 WHAT IS IT
But the last DeSoto in my database is the S26A.
With the last FireDome being S25 back in 1957.
Am I missing some data? Should I have a S27?

Headers, exhaust and stall converter are the big items.
Jet has a chip, but I get varying reviews. Once someone
puts out a re-programmer the Hemi is going to get wild.

The casting # I found is behind water pump on flat above the lifter valley. Hot Heads seems to think it could possibly be a truck engine not Ind. but I 'm thinking the M-desination is for a marine application with the flat oil pan and no fire power or anything on the valve covers and no water fille...

Actually, here is their actual Hemi price sheet:

Looks like your tab can really build up pretty fast.
But, seriously, an LS1 with 4L60E is roughly equal.

And who would opt for an LS1 over 5.7 Hemi? :)

I'm not an automotive engineer, but would developing an aftermarket mass air setup be out of the question? Or is it not worth the development and manufacturing costs? I imagine it requires new sensors, ECU and so forth, so not worth the R&D unless the factory does it for production. Would a Speed De...
