I am told that pricing is $6250 for an automatic
and $6500 for a manual. Complete engine only.
You need to add alternator, air, power steering,
wiring and the computer. Their pricing for the
harness and computer will be coming soon.

I do not have any factory contacts. I survive with press releases and the general industry rumors. :) Of all the materials and people that I have talked to, nothing has ever been said about Ford making the 426 Hemi heads. Ask the person who told you this to share some of his proof. That'd be interes...

Hey now, TheHemi.com lists 56A as a 354, too! :P

Kind of lacking any real engine details, though.

*M45R* Marine Hemi Decoding Help

I need help in decoding someone's marine Hemi engine. Model: M45R 0404 60693 Intake: E-4533- (M or N) Tag on Front: (1 19 59) The block has a W on both sides by the freeze plugs. Does anyone have any guesses? My documentation is lacking a M45R marine Hemi model designation, but I am thinking this mi...

There might have been confusion in what was being said.
Chrysler had hemi heads, but they were not the only ones.
Ford also made hemi head engines, notably the Boss 429.
The point might have been that Chrysler was not the only
manufacturer to have produced hemi head engines.

Assuming you are looking at the heads with the intake
valves at the top, exhaust at the bottom, here should
be a good pattern to follow:

8 4 2 6 10
7 3 1 5 9

Go 60-80 ft-lbs on the first sweep and 85 ft-lbs next.
Basically just work the bolts from the inside going out.

I am told the pad where the VIN is stamped should be 5/32 inch from the block. If someone removed the VIN, it would be about 1/8 inch less than that. This pad should have "swirl marks" that were made during the machining process. If the pad is shiny or smooth, it may have been "re-machined". Special...

What does HEMI mean?

The term HEMI references the hemispherical combustion chambers in the engine's heads. The chamber design puts the intake/exhaust valves in-line, rather than side-by-side. This allows for better flow of air through the head. The spark plug in the center of the chamber creates a better ignition of the...

Warranty 426 Block ID?

How does someone determine if a 426 Hemi car
has an original block or maybe a warranty block?
I believe warranty 426 blocks may or may not be
stamped with the VIN from the car. Either way,
I am curious how you ID the warranty 426 blocks.

The casting for a 426 Hemi block is 2468330.
Do crate 426 blocks have the same markings?

Someone asked me if a 426 Hemi bearing this
casting number could still be a crate 426 Hemi?

I have several ideas to throw your direction: - Is the carb possibly too lean? - Is the timing too retarded? - Is your climate particularly hot? - Has the engine been broken in? - Is the fan shroud a good one? Review some of those and see if they could be any part of the problem. Some folks tell me ...

Is there any difference between a marine block and
those used in automotive applications? And is there
any difference between reverse and normal rotation
marine blocks? Will the crank, heads, and/or intake
from automotive engines work on a marine block?
