Re: Nice looking poly
My bet is that you are looking at some seriously rare speed parts. Hard enough finding this stuff for a hemi . I can't imagine where it could be found now. Looks great too.

Re: EFI conversion for 392
Holley used to make a 2 barrel and a 4 barrel replacement fuel injection kit. Basically a bolt-on deal. A friend of mine used a 2 bbl. setup on his 4 bbl. wrecker and he said the power was unbelievable. It would spin the dually tires on the truck with ease. He took it off because his drivers were te...

Re: engine buildups using early 1951-53 heads, porting results ?
I bought three Donovan heads on eBay a while back. Two of them are going to need extensive welding to be used. Has anyone ever seen flow numbers on these heads? I want to use them on a blower motor so the flow is OK but I am really using them for the weight savings. It is going in a street car. Buddy

Re: New guy with old 331 ?????
I have a 392 crank I offset ground to B.Bl. Chevy rod size. It was a 4.250 welded stroker that went to 4.400 stroke, or 1/2 inch over stock. I want to put 7.000 rods in it as I have limited room for the pin in the piston. Is the narrower width of the big end anything to worry about? I am also going ...

daytona auto designing
Look up item # 130203214779 on eBay. It is one of their auction sites for a flat rate to get heads worked on. The basic valve job and surface from them is a mere $550.00 for a set of hemi heads although I guess the price is the same for any other set you send. Figure that and about $150.00/$180.00 f...

porting the early hemi head
D.A.D.Continue. www.daytona-auto-designing.com/ I googled Daytona Auto Design. There is a web site they have built. It is a study in mind control and excessive self praise. They allegedly do everything better than everyone else. The photos show they are into multiple colors on all of their products....

early 331 heads
Daytona Auto Design , in one of their listings on eBay, stated they had ported a set of them and had gotten better flow than the aluminum heads sold by Hot heads. I think that would be referred to as making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Since they are the only ones I have seen doing any work on t...

Look in this section for the reply Scott posted of the photos I took Saturday May5,2007 at 9:47 PM. The hoses are attached to the ports at the front of the intake between 1/3 on the driver side and 2/4 on the passenger side. A small amount of material may have to be ground off of the water pump to c...

354 poly motor info
I recently traded for a 1958 Chrysler that has a 354 poly motor in it. It has a 4 barrel intake on it. Is that normal or did these engines come with them as well as the 2 barrels? What was the power rating for this motor? Photos to those that want to take a look at it. Buddy

Found another intresting block....
I bought the short block on eBay in item # 120129049803 . It is stamped L8D7 and is a 354 that has the early front cover bolt pattern with the single top bolt like the one you have. The side of the block has the large W cast into it.. I think it is a poly block but the seller bought it with hemi hea...

Embarrassed and with the right answer is a lot better than not and spending more money to correct your mistake. Maybe that is why working on hemis is more expensive. Not enough good people to give right answers.

Help Out with Hemi Tips & Tricks
I was going to reply but it is set up so only moderators can reply. I had to change the oil adapter on the truck motor because the first one I used was the wrong thickness and the dist. shaft would not work. Be sure to check these things before you install the pan and weld the pickup to the pump hou...

PS/AC/Alternator Brackets on a '54 331
I finally removed the balancer and remachined the face of the Hot Heads cover where the attaching points for their alt. and AC brackets go. They need to be machined flat . It comes as cast around the holes and is difficult to get the little pivot bracket to work right. I had originally set the alt. ...

Finishing a 331 for q '28 Dodge truck. Owner's name is Frana
It was a custom mixed color as was the color on the truck.. I think it is a little too orange for Hemi Orange. When I saw the motor after it was painted that was the first color that came to me. I just got an email from the owner. The truck is now in North Carolina being finished. He is sending more...

Help..View of disributor to oil pump
Contact Hot heads. Tell them exactly which parts you have. They can sell you corresponding parts that should work fine . Or a dandy catalog you can read and see exactly what you are buying. A great item for the hemi fan.. I sell a dandy oil pump shaft bushing driver so you can replace that worn bush...

Does anyone have Aluminum Heads from Hot Heads?
I forgot to add that I bought a set of really really really wrecked Donovan heads on eBay in February of this year, item # 170076492106 if you want to see them. They will need extensive welding to fix . A local friend does welding on aluminum blocks so I am going to recruit him to weld them & I ...

You can get an idea from the Hot Rod article about the 392 in the '57 Chevy. The guy sounded happy with them. Maybe there is a way to get in touch with him for some input. Car guys are always willing to help other car guys, especially in dispensing free advice, like now. LOL

Spark Plug Gap????????
Whenever I put an MSD box on an engine I open the gap to .045. According to racing legend Grumpy Jenkins a wider gap always works better if your ignition system has the capacity to generate the voltage necessary with the wider gap. If it is running now try it width the .035 and then talk to your loc...

Got it done. Sorry on two accounts. The owner's name is Frank and not Frane. It is not a '28. It is a '40. The top is chopped. He bought the cab with the basic body work done at a swap meet for $800.00. The doors fit good and the fit of the pillars was good. Just needed finishing. A shop in Houston ...

P.A.W. and Hot Heads both sell all the hemi stuff you will need for a 354. Each is cheaper than the other on some things and more expensive on other items. Shop their prices . I think they both beat Kanter.

Finishing a 331 for q '28 Dodge truck. Owner's name is Frana
Tell me a way to get photos up for the buildup. A lot of hard earned (read that costly) control of a steep learning curve. A lot of this stuff that looks "IDENTICAL" and should work, doesn't. The only way to resolve the issue is to see how fast (and expensive) it can be delivered the next ...

Bolt hole sizes in marine blocks and passenger car blocks
I am trying to mount an alt. on a 331 marine block using the lower bracket from Hot Heads. One of the bolt holes in the aluminum bkt. is a 5/16th that bolts to the front of the block , with the bolt going through the Hot Heads aluminum timing cover.
