You have quite a few options? A strong 360 would be an obvious choice for "best bang for the buck", dress it all up to impress the bettys...? A 440 would entail more work, you could toss in a fairly stout 440 and impress with the power. A Hemi is great if money isn't a big concern, but it ...

Exhaust

Well, I went with 3 1/2" 16 gauge mandrels, I tossed an "X" pipe in, a couple 2 chamber Delta Force Flowmasters, and it should be able to exit right out the rear. I've seen all sorts of claims of "X" pipe power increases, but I know first-hand that they SOUND "different...

Hemi electronic distributor swap

Does a LA 318/340/360 distributor bolt into a 354 Hemi?

My brother has a 354 and wants to run an electronic ignition, I was wondering what the best route to go would be?

Is the engine running so you can hear/test it, or apart so you can inspect it?
What would you put the engine in if you did do the trade? Do you have a shell, or?

I went with Ray Barton. The quality of workmanship is why, I think he does a more thorough job of building a piece of precision machinery than one could imagine. The TIME he takes is another matter, I was told 6 weeks, but it ended up being 10 months+, which wasn't ALL his fault. The run around I wa...

NOBODY! I designed the flanges and had them made out of 3/8" steel, I bought the "U" and "J" bends, and the collectors are available all over the place. The pipe is 16 gauge, which is heavier than the 18 gauge that Hooker sells. I still have to make my EFI's O2 sensor ...

What's your engine going into Tweety? Another local guy I know here has a Barton 572 Hemi, it's the engine on Rance Baxter's site. He has Accel DFI and 10.5 to 1 compression, he pulled 894 horsepower on Barton's dyno. Both our engines are going into street cars. His a 1968 GTX and mine a 1940 Plymou...

Hemi headers

Anybody got THESE headers...? LOL! I'm gonna make my own, 2 1/8" primaries into 3 1/2" collectors. I've got 3/8" flanges and collector rings, 16 gauge mandrels, and not much space. http://www.crazymoparguy.homestead.com/files/headerspieces2.jpg http://www.crazymoparguy.homestead.com/f...

Well, I got my engine. My quoted price was $16,500 U.S. for the long block, no intake. It turned out to be $18,500 U.S. with shipping included.

I'll be hopefully getting it running this summer, and see what it's like.

LOL! Whaddya wanna know? It's a stroker- Barton built, it has a very mild hydraulic cam, Accel sequential DFI, it pulled just under 600 horsepower with only 32 degrees of timing and almost no tuning and it's going to get the living *you know what* beaten out of it once it's up and running! It's goin...

My neighbour heard of the rocker adjusting screw problems, and he phoned Cummins. They told him there was a defective batch, hardened improperly, and after he bitched they sent him a completely new set of screws and jam nuts. Free.

My neighbour directly across the street is selling his never fired 472 crate Hemi.
The 528 Hemis had siamese bore blocks, which have had some intermittent ring sealing problems, so I was told?
Barton gave me a "6 week" estimate as well, he has been 7 MONTHS!
