[quote="firepower354"]392 cranks weren't made of especially good steel. quote]

This is the first that I've heard of that. I was always told that the 392 had the toughest crankshaft from the factory, even the 426. Is this not true?

I would like some updated flow numbers also. I think when I get the money to build the 392 that I will send them to Shady Dell to have Ryan port them for me. He ported my sb eddy's for my 340.

I wish that I was running one. I just don't have the money to do anything with right now. I'm too knee deep into my 64 Valiant steet/strip car. You have an awesome ride there. I'm thinking of building the 392 up for my 86 two wheel drive Ramcharger. I would love to find a 33 Plymouth 5 window coupe ...

If you can't afford the aluminum "Hot Heads" then try and score the 555 heads. They say that those are the best. I wish that I could start spending some money on mine  .

Hello, I really can't give you any advice. Haven't been there, but I didn't think that Donovon was making heads anymore. I'm sure though if you could spend the money and buy Aluminum "Hot Heads" heads you would get the flow your looking for. That kind of horse I would think that you would ...

I'm not sure on the duel plugs. I haven't ever seen heads like that for the early Hemis, that's not saying much seeings how old I am. I'm not sure that I've seen the rods you talking about with the small end being that big. Most are .990 pins like Big Cheby stuff when it comes to that long, like Hot...

Polishing is good, but also, you asked "did they last longer?" Hmm?? How would you know if they "lasted longer"??? mart Was just wondering if a person had done an experiment with two build ups or just opinions. Either way, thanks for the reply's. Is it true that if you do this, ...

Has anybody here done this on a set of 392 rods? Did you like results, did they last longer? Thanks in advance.

Aluminum Heads

Does anybody now of anybody else besides Hot Heads thats still making new aluminum heads for the Chrysler Hemis? I would like to see some aluminum heads that look like stock 392's. So that the water cross over could be used to hide them. Thanks for your time.

That doesn't seem like much. You compare them to a sb mopar cylinder head and the ports are huge. Here are some flow numbers from http://www.shadydellspeedshop.com/jhead.htm FLOW #’s LIFT------ASCAST---------PORTED .100”----62.1/46.6---------62.1/51.8 .200”----112.1/99.4-------135.2/103.5 .300”----1...
