Re: 1956 Matthews Martinique with twin 331 chrysler marine hemis
RB means Raised Block, the deck height was raised to get a longer stroke, this increased the distance the dizzy shaft has to go to get to the int shaft vs the original B block. Chr made engines in both B & RB blocks. B 350, 361, 383 (except in '59), 400 RB '59 383, 413,426 (Wedge & Hemi), 44...

Re: 1956 Matthews Martinique with twin 331 chrysler marine hemis
You can get the whole ignition system (dizzy, boxes, wiring) off a 73 through some time in the 80s Mopar or get a kit from Mopar performance. If one of the dizzys turns counter clock wise either the B or RB dizzy (don't know which) should bolt in.
What carb set up you have? 4 bl or 2X1?

Assuming one is counter rotating, does the dizzys in both engines turn clock wise or different directions?

Re: 1956 Matthews Martinique with twin 331 chrysler marine hemis
You can upgrade the ignition by going to an electronic dizzy for the 318/340. either by cutting & extending the dizzy shaft or installing a longer intermediate shaft. reportedly you can install a shat ot of either a B or RB big block in the LA dizzy, one is the right length. Guy never came back ...

it's a decent book. Has some errors in it & conflicting opinions. Go to www.jalopyjournal.com click on the HAMB then put Hemi Tech Index into "search".

Probably something like the condenser heating up. Might check & see if there's a Pertronix for your dizzy.

Probably. hemis can run a point higher C/R on the same octane as a wedge, so what octane would be needed on a 5.6-6.5 wedge engine?Rob wrote:It would run on 79 I bet. lol

Maybe, if you think there's a market for Fast N Furious Chargers, other than that not really. Think most would rather have a 440 or other proper period engine dropped in.

Re: 331, 354, 392 Exhaust manifolds
I recently bought a 392 out of a 58 Imperial, with the' Imperial' valve covers. I sure could use some help on how the front end of the engine should dress out. I have all the pulleys and brackets, but they are off the engine, and are totally confusing. Does somebody have a pix of how and where they...
