I think that rocker is for the 2nd Gen 426 Hemi.

Re: Adjustable rocker

According to my old Chilton's book, all Chrysler 300 MECHANICAL lifter cams had the valve lash set at .015 on the intakes, .024 on the exhaust. ALL OTHERS were hydraulic lifter engines. 8) Thanks DblAdigger! Does anyone know the mileage interval on the odometer before the factory recommends you adj...

Re: Adjustable rocker

My 354 had solids with adj pushrods. After break in and the second adjustment they stayed pretty steady. I always wondered how often you really needed to adjust the valve lash on a solid lifter cam in a street car. I would imagine a higher valve spring rate would make adjustment cycles sooner. Does...

Re: Roll Your Own Hemi Torque/Hone Plate

A very short Update: I finally got some free time to get started on this project. I reluctantly admit I've been sort of "temporarily without steady income" for a while now thanks to the funky economy. But a great little job that I could do in my own home shop landed in my lap, and I just f...

Re: Roll Your Own Hemi Torque/Hone Plate

Sorry for no updates yet guys. I'm caught in the middle of some other stuff that came up unexpectedly. I should be able to make some progress on this project next week.

Take care,

Re: New 392 Hemi Blocks

Siamesed block! Nice. I hope it will bore to 4.25". With a 5/8" longer stroke crank, that would give about 513 cubic inches. :D

Now THAT would make a great street torque monster. 8)

Re: Another source for early Hemi parts gone

The word I've been reading on the Hamb, is that the owner is going to reopen soon and continue to offer stuff for the early Hemi. He even has his new Hemi website up and running. So, he is not gone yet! I say buy something form him now, no matter how small to show your support for his decision to co...

Stroker 392 Crankshafts

Some of the more knowledgeable people here mention that a 5/8" arm is a safe stroking length in a 392. But what exactly does this mean when they say a 5/8" arm? Does it mean the crank has a 4.525" stroke (stock 3.90" + 0.625" = 4.525")? Have people gone more? And if so,...

The Weight of Aluminum Head from Hot Heads?

Does anyone know the weight of the cool aluminum heads built by Hot Heads Research compared to the original cast iron heads? Lets say the empty weight, no valves and springs. How much of a savings is it really? I've read nothing but great things about them. :D Thanks in advance and take care, David

Questions about adjustable rocker arms

Hello all! I'm completely new to the whole first generation Chrysler Hemi world. I've been reading, reading and doing even more reading on the subject. Been studying Tex Smith's "The Complete Chrysler Hemi" book like it was the bible. Purchased Bob Walkers (Hot Heads) "Hemi Eng...

Re: Three old hemis

Hi Kaufman,

My reference book says #3 could be a 315 from a Dodge truck. I used the "Hemi Engine Data" book you can get from HotHeads.

Hope that helps.
