Thanks! It's good to finally have access to someone who has some experience with the new hemis!

That's really interesting! The chambers on these new hemi heads must be extremely efficient! Thanks for your feedback, I really do appreciate it.

Re: 5,7 Hemi MSD 6hemi controller problem

So your engines are running best at only 21 degrees of total mechanical timing? What is your initial timing setting? My MSD has 10 degrees initial timing right now.

Re: 5,7 Hemi MSD 6hemi controller problem

I plugged mine in and have been running it with MSD's map. It runs good, but at only 25 degrees total advance I'm sure there's more in it. I don't even own a laptop, and have to borrow my son's to do any tweaking. Since I can't get anyone to admit to doing any experimenting on the timing and finding...

Re: 5,7 Hemi MSD 6hemi controller problem

Good luck! I haven't been able to get a response from anyone on any of the boards in regards to the timing on these new hemis or the use of the MSD HEMI-6 control box. I've even sent PM's to certain people who have been working on these engines and gotten no response. It's like the timing info on th...

Re: 276 Over Bore Newbi Question

Best answer I can give you is have it sonic checked, and then you'll know for sure. Every block is different and yours could have core shift. For the money it costs to rebuild these early hemis, the cost of a sonic check is cheap peace of mind!

Re: Mr. Norm's 2009 426 Hemi Convertibles

I'm surprised that they actually straightened the body line on the rear quarter of the 'Cuda' model to mimic the original! I saw the straight body line in the prototype pics, but didn't figure it would make it to production. Hopefully these ARE pics of production models.

Have you checked the plugs to see if it is actually running rich? The power issue could be timing, the MSD controller only has 25 degrees of total timing in the stock map.

I just got off the phone with Paul at ARP. I assume all those reading this is aware they are the leading fastener manufacturer in the free world. He said that the main bearing bore POSITIVELY need to be align honed if studs are used in place of bolts on main bearings. The bearing clearances WILL ch...

Dyno time isn't cheap, but that being said in my opinion your friend shouldn't have had to pay for the oil and filter, let alone the dyno time!

I've only dealt with them once. I couldn't get my hands on a carb intake for one of the new 5.7 hemis except for the Mopar Performance intakes at $1,000! Indy gave me a screaming deal on one they had on the shelf for $300!

Re: Water pump/crossover

I run pretty much the same setup as George on my 392, only I have a heater nipple on the pump hooked up to the heater core and the other heater core hose going to a water fitting on the intake manifold. It gets over 100 degrees here in southwest New Mexico on a regular basis and I've never had an ov...

All the bearings in my 392 are King bearings. I've made close to 100 passes down the dragstrip (shifting at 5500-6000 RPM) and driven the car on the street for approx. 6 years with no problems at all.

I used the stock shafts in my 392 with Crane valve springs that have 130# seat pressure and a .510 lift cam. I've experienced no problems at all.
