What does HEMI mean?

The term HEMI references the hemispherical combustion chambers in the engine's heads. The chamber design puts the intake/exhaust valves in-line, rather than side-by-side. This allows for better flow of air through the head. The spark plug in the center of the chamber creates a better ignition of the...

Warranty 426 Block ID?

How does someone determine if a 426 Hemi car
has an original block or maybe a warranty block?
I believe warranty 426 blocks may or may not be
stamped with the VIN from the car. Either way,
I am curious how you ID the warranty 426 blocks.

Castings on Crate 426 Hemi

The casting for a 426 Hemi block is 2468330.
Do crate 426 blocks have the same markings?

Someone asked me if a 426 Hemi bearing this
casting number could still be a crate 426 Hemi?

I wrote the seller and asked that my information be
passed to the buyer, so that I might further inquire
about the Hemi engine powering that beast. I have
no idea if she (it was a woman who wrote back) will
pass along my info or not.

New 392 Block Market Viability

Does anyone know of any research on the market viability of selling brand new 392 blocks? Both steel and aluminum. I know someone who might be able to bring new 392 blocks into the marketplace. He is curious on demand and perhaps what people would be willing to pay for them. If you have any informat...

American Blower Company

I see a Hemi powered Air Raid Siren on Ebay that was supposedly made by American Blower Company . The seller could not provide me with any more information. (They just want to get rid of the thing, I guess.) Does anyone have info on American Blower Company ? I would love to hear more about them, and...

301 FireDome Info

I am looking for info on the 301 DeSoto FireDome Hemi.
I have reason to believe this engine was produced for a
short time, but I do not have any firm details. If anyone
has a lead for more info, please pass it along to me!

Does anyone have more information?

The available information on the Marine and Industrial
Hemis on the web is pretty minimal. Does anyone have
some additional information on them? I would love to
be able to plug in some more stats on those motors.

I have several ideas to throw your direction: - Is the carb possibly too lean? - Is the timing too retarded? - Is your climate particularly hot? - Has the engine been broken in? - Is the fan shroud a good one? Review some of those and see if they could be any part of the problem. Some folks tell me ...

Marine Block

Is there any difference between a marine block and
those used in automotive applications? And is there
any difference between reverse and normal rotation
marine blocks? Will the crank, heads, and/or intake
from automotive engines work on a marine block?

Industrial Hemi in a Car

Can an industrial Hemi be adapted to work in a vehicle?
What changes need to be made, or what differences make
using an industrial Hemi in a vehicle impossible? Thanks.
