Re: 331 HEMI BUILD
Either 1954 331 engine could run you between $200 to $2,000. No joke. This stuff is all over the place right now price wise. What is a fair price? In my opinion only, I would say between $500 to $800 if it's a solid rebuildable core. Again, that's just my opinion. People have paid a lot more than th...

How ? Was it something you did, or something you didn't ? Mike Mike, Being completely new to these engines, I was very curious too, so I sent TDW a PM. (I hope you don't mind Tony if I share your reply with the group.) I feel it's one of those "Doh!" time savers. :D Here is Tony's reply t...

Re: Whats the best headers ???
Hi Olskool, Don't know if it will help, but it falls into the "other ideas" part of your request. Hopefully it will give you some ideas..... There is a nice project on the HAMB by a member called Brian Bass (Bass is his user name over there) who put an early Hemi into a 29 Model A coupe. H...

Re: 2X4 factory hemi manifolds
Found the link. See the text on the second image down in the article. I OBVIOUSLY miss-read what the author was trying to say. The junk information was me. He mentions that Chrysler started to use the larger AFB with the introduction of the 392. He must have been talking about using it for th...

Re: 2X4 factory hemi manifolds
Hi Dan, I pulled out Leo's book, and it looks like there are three styles of factory 2 x 4 intakes. And if not three distinct styles, at least three casting numbers. The 1955 (331 powered 300A) used casting number 1634285. The 1956 (354 powered 300B) used casting number 1731686 Both 1957 (392 powere...

That sounds Awesome! Share when you get a chance, if you can. I understand if things need to be secret for a bit. I'll have to look at the eMS-PRO system. I'm registered at several of the MegaSquirt forums, and I've been reading, and reading, and reading..... You are right, the community is g...

Re: Minimum Cylinder Wall Thickness?
I'm by no means an engine expert, but if you are running boost, the difference in final HP numbers between boring it to a safe 0.060 over compared to a full 0.125 over will not make enough difference to be worth the risk. If you've got your heart set on as many cubes as possible, I read somewhere th...

At more than one hp per pound, you could almost use those engines in an aircraft.

Re: 5.7 swap into an old school van
Sounds like a really cool project! Not sure if this will help, but as far as the fuel pump goes, you might head over to your closest Pic-N-Pull and take some measurements of late model Van or Truck tanks that had fuel injected engines. Those tanks should have the fuel pump inside the tank, and provi...

Re: Day Dreaming About Induction....
A few years ago, Rod and custom magazine did an article on hiding a fuel injection setup in a false valley tray. I will lookup the article when I get a free chance ( i still have the magazine). They made up 1" think spacers to mount under the injection, where they welded on injector bungs. I l...

Re: Day Dreaming About Induction....
David, when I first put my 392 together I ran the Weiand dual 4 intake with 2 Edelbrock 600 CFM carbs with progressive linkage. The setup worked great on the street with those 600's and the progressive linkage. I actually drilled the counterweights on the secondary air valves to get them to open so...

Day Dreaming About Induction....
In the evenings, I've started to daydream about what kind of induction system I'll use for the 392 build. Dreaming costs nothing. :D A good friend of mine recently gave me a 29 Model A Coupe body for my project. I still have to pinch myself it's real. The body will need a lot of work to be usable, b...

Early Hemi Warm-Up
Just stumbled across this great short video of a vintage front engine Dragster warming up in the pits.
I think my favorite part of the video is about half way through when they switch fuels. Nitro maybe?

Sorry if I put this in the wrong place. But it is 1G Hemi related. :D Like the title says, Saturday the 27th was a really great day for me. I got up around 5:30 in the morning, walked around like a Zombie just long enough to get my eyes focused, then jumped into my little junky truck, and sta...

Wow! That's 540 cubic inches.
That would make a killer street torque monster.
