354 4 speed up grade

I have a 354. the tranny is a four speed. (VT 488) is the pad # on the block. Can anyone tell me the year , horse power. It came out of a dodge K dump truck. Is this trans good for street rod use? If it is, do you know what trannys will bolt to the block.

Doing some house cleaning and came upon this thread.
Does anyone have more info on VT-488 engines? I am
not able to dig up any information on VT-488 engines.

could the actual numbers be VT-438?? because i dont see anything about a VT-488

It should be a Poly head engine
