331 555 heads

I just purchased 2 sets of heads with the so called Tripple Nickel 331 castings. Why are they more desirable.

It is my understanding that the ports are different and flow a little better than the other 331/354 heads. They do have bigger ports than the earlier 331 heads, and the intake ports on all the low deck (331/354) heads have a straighter shot at the intake valve than the 392 heads do. I've compared a triple five head to an industrial 354 head, and the bowls are more open around the valve guide boss. this may be where the extra flow comes from. Hope this helps!
