Tires

Post by frankmaranello »

I got a 4X4 1500 Hemi with 3.92 diff and 20" tires and rims.
Need to set up for the winter.
Don't know what size tires and rims to put on without it effecting anything on the truck (speedo, mileage, 4X4 system etc...).
I don't want to spend too much money.
Any suggestions?

I was thinking the same thing. I also have a 4x4. I was just going to look on ebay and find some stock 17's for the ram and put an aggressive tread tire on it. The 17's are fairly cheap because of alot of people doing the swap to 20's. as far a messing up the speedo, just get the superchip tuner which will compensate for the tire change. This is just an idea i have hope it helps you out. also, rubber for 17's is a hell of alot cheaper than 20's.

I was told today that you have to put on at least 17" because of the clearance for the brakes.
Apparently 265/75/17 will do the trick without it affecting the speedo or 4X4 system.
Any other comments are welcomed....

u are correct..... 16.5 wheels won't even fit. the wheels won't clear the massive rotors on the Ram, which are intended for wheels NO LESS than 17s
