6.1L engine
when is the new 6.1 HEMI supposed to be out? Is it only for HeavyDuty trucks? what horsepower, torque ratings?
So far, the 6.1 Hemi is an SRT engine for SRT vehicles.
300C SRT-8, Grand Cherokee SRT-8 and probably the
Magnum SRT-8. 425 horses and 420 torque are the #s.

Wow. Chrysler is making a Grand Cherokee SRT-8. Thats pretty cool. Do expect to see the 6.1 in the 2500/3500 HD trucks aswell. If not 2006 definately 2007. Its gonna pick up where th 8.0L V10 left off in the Ram lineup.scottm wrote:So far, the 6.1 Hemi is an SRT engine for SRT vehicles.

word in Indiana is it will also be for the 2005 1/2 heavy duty's. May be able to take a ride in a mule soon.

If they put it in the 1500 Q/C I'll trade mine in....unless of course I just step up to the Q/C SRT/10. Waiting to see how far over 50large that will be...)

yeah, this pot smokin' dealership here adds a 6k mark up for "limited availibility". making a grand total of 53k. maybe they are smoking crack...but the Q/C SRT-10 does look more appealing for a family man.

From what I've read, lots of the parts from the 6.1 will transplant to the 5.7. I for one, am interested in a set of heads. The 6.1 supposedly outflows the 5.7 and has larger valves.
