Trans shifting weird

Post by GONE1445 »

I got a 2003 Dodge ram regular cab short bed with the HEMI of course and some times if im just crusing through a parking lot the trans shifts really bad like it wants to shift up then decides not to then shifts up any way. its only done it on 3 accounts and has never done it if im getting on it. and i was just wondering if any one else has had this problem (its the 5 speed auto)

also i was wondering if there was any one out there that has had experiance with both the super charger and turbo kits made for the HEMI, any prefrence ??

I had similiar to the same problems that you do. I had taken it to the dealer and they said that there wasn't anything wrong (but they COULD manipulate it) go figure.... I ended up Disabling the TMR and haven't had a problem since. Don't know if the 2 are related, but thought I'd throw it out there. :)

From what I had heard, on the 04's they changed it where you couldn't disable the TMR.

Its actually a cinch to undo it, It'll take you at the most 5 mins. And YES it will void your warranty ONLY if they catch it undone, If you take it in for warranty work just make sur eyou plug it back up, hehe 8)

Had the same problem sometimes it shifted hard on the upshift and sometimes on the downshift but only when I was cruising never when I was getting up on it. I took the vehicle into the dealer where I had bought it and come to find out there is a update for your PCM that will fix that problem. This update will account for a smoother upshift and downshift at either slow or fast speeds. I have had mine back for a month from getting the update and have yet to have a hard shift of shifting problem.
