ehaust burnin paint

i have an 03 hemi. i have put dual exhaust on it. when i had the stock exhaust with the pipe behind the passenger rear tire i believe the pipe got to hot and burnt the paint. i now have a black spot right above where the old pipe was. has anyone else had that problem and does anyone know what i can use to get it off with out ruining the paint
