Well I've got the 2004 Durango stripped down to the rolling chassis complete with the 5.7 Hemi 5 speed automatic and 4 wheel drive. I have decided to shorten the chassis 5" to make the wheel base match the 1950 ford F1 pickup that is providing the body for this project, I had considered streathing the truck bed but decided it might look funny.I would love to hear from someone who has swapped a new Hemi into an old vehicle with regard to eliminating the anti-theft input to the computer. I'm also going to try to keep the anti-lock brakes and skid control, but all the rest of the body stuff will be gone, I'll use hotrod style heat and air and wire the lights in the simple way of the 1950's.
I will reuse the fuel tank and system frim the durango and retain all the emission gear at least for now.
