Challenger SRT8 production started today

They're officially going to be hitting the roads soon!

Chrysler LLC today celebrated the production launch of one of the industry's most highly anticipated vehicles -- the all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8.

Sweeeeeet! I can't wait to start seeing them in person!

I wonder why they brought it out so late in
the 2008 model year.....or if they couldn't
have got it in production earlliar, why they
didn't release it as a 2009 model??

I saw on another website Mopar may not be building the S/S version. Has anyone heard anything different?

If the 'site was AllPar.com, then I've seen that depressing statement too.

It would be a crying shame if Chrysler don't make them, for all the publicity they will create for the years to come, and the racing records too ....

Anyone got a contact in Chrysler to confirm this ?

I wonder how many people have stumped up the cash for the S/S Challenger ?

Well I did ( a downpayment at least) and I know of one other guy & 2 others that said they were going to try, but their dealer wasn't sure about anything pertaining to the car.
