Jet Chips for the 5.7 Hemi

Jet Chips for the 5.7 Hemi
Jet Stage 1 Power Module (8-10 hp, 15 ft-lbs) $234
Jet Stage 2 Power Module (10-15 hp, 20 ft-lbs) $241
Both available via http://www.truckperformance.com/.
So who is going to try them out and report back to us?
They mention changing spark timing and fuel curves, but
nothing about the tranny shift points -- which we need.
(Stage 2 suggests installing a 180 deg thermostat, too.)

OK,
First of all the link you sent for the Jet Chips were for a 1999 Ford Escort. Maybe it was some sort of sick joke, I dunno?
Secondly, Why do I keep getting booted off of this forum? I read it often but do not post very often. Every once in awhile when I do want to post my account will not work and I can't log in and have to go through that process all over again. Help.

No, it is not a joke. I updated the links. Looks like they just
added their 2004 parts and I guess they "re-number" all their
products. Weird -- they actually changed their Product IDs.
As for your question about the forums, drop me an email and
we can see if we can do something -- scottm@scotech.com.

Hey Scott, I think the guys at MOPARCHAT did this to a 4.7 and found that you had to reset the ECU after every start due to the ECU will correct the settings.
THough, I had it on my Dakota but with this new generation chip, I don't know the difference to determine if that holds true.

JET CHIPS
I HAVE AN 03 HEMI S/C, S/B W/ AEM BRUTE FORCE INTAKE, V FORCE EXHAUST AND STAGE II JET MODULE. I HAD MY INTAKE BEFORE GETTING MY CHIP AND IT WAS KILLING ME AT STANDING STOP DRAGS. 2 WEEKS AFTER I GOT MY INTAKE I BOUGHT THE MODULE INSTALLED IT AND BOY DID IT HELP! MOST PEOPLE TOLD ME IT WAS A WASTE OF $ BUT W/ THE INTAKE IN IT DID IMPROVE, CURRENTLY I WILL TAKE ALL CRUSTANG GT'S OFF THE LINE OR FROM A ROLLING START. NO THERMOSTAT WAS NEEDED AS MY TEMP ONLY MOVED ABOUT A HAIR OVER TO THE "HOT" NOW IT SITS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE AND TAKES ALMOST NO TIME TO WARM UP IN THE MORNINGS. I THINK THE MODULE FOR THIS APP. WORKS PRETTY GOOD AND I GOT MINE FOR ONLY $215.00 ON SALE

04 Rumble bee in Texas with stage 2 and no heat problems. Actually it has dropped itself to 180 without a new thermostat. Jet recomends this because it will add power. The trick is that your computer will read 180 and put in more fuel to adjust the temp back up to 195 thus running richer. But after taking 6 tenths off my 1/4 with an intake and the chip I would definately say that is not a mixed review. That is cheap speed at about $450

ive got the jet chip (stage 2) in my 04. didnt really feel a gain, but 10 hp would be hard to feel with a seat-of-your-pants-meter. running it with the autozone 800-180 thermostat. gauge sits at just over a quarter of the way up instead of the factory half mark. this is in 100 degree south tx heat with the ac on. as far as the computer adding fuel to raise temp, thats not accurate. adding fuel would richen, thus cooling the mixture down. lean conditions make heat. heat is power. but lean is risky. thus engines are calibrated to run stoich.
