03 & 04 Tailgates

I had my tailgate stolen off of my truck last wednesday while parked in my driveway in front of my house! 
If anyone is in the San Antonio area and knows an fishy characters 
peddling a black, 03, laramie tailgate please let me know. While trying to avoid insurance and the dealer ship, I have found a new pull off from a 2004 1500, which happens to be black. Does anybody know if there are any differences between a 2003 and a 2004 tailgate? I'm pretty sure there aren't but I wanted to consult with the masses.
If you didn't think this crap still happened, well it does. I would suggest adding a tailgate lock and, if possible, adding hose clamps around the hinges of the gate.
