hemi cut out to wht its suppose to be?

Post by tmaxxnd450es » Tue Mar 30, 2004 5:05 pm

ok went to maine this weekend to bring my sled up to my camp. i had my 450es(600lbs) in the bed. rubicon on my trailer(roughly 675lbs with new tires) and my 700 xc (600 lbs). i had about 60 gals. of water in the bed with the 450 and all my other stuff all together id say 500 lbs. and 3 passangers and 3 dogs and that would be about 800 lbs.so that would be about 3500 lbs with the trailer. ok wht was happening was the front tires felt like they were coming off the ground(the tires were humming and the steerign wheel jerking im sure this is b/c of weight int eh back is there anyway i can stop this?

Hitch

Post by HemiTrkn » Tue Mar 30, 2004 5:41 pm

It is all how you are hooked up to your trailer. If your hitch is too high, then there is going to be an upward angle on the tongue, pulling the back of your truck down, thus lifting the front. I would recomend getting a drop tongue reciever for your hitch, and see if that solves your problem. Also space things evenly on your trailer, so you are getting the maximum weight on the axles of the trailer, not your truck.

If this is the typicial wieght you will be pull you should have bought 3/4 or 1 ton. yOUR 1500 IS A 1/2 TON.

Also do you have the towing package or something else.

Good luck

i have the towing package. actually this isnt normal weight this is about every month and in teh summer the sled isnt on there so thats about 600 lbs less. also that water usually last about 3 trips so its not always that much i ahve a 6 inch drop reciever on it. and i woudl this a 1/2 could at least hand that much weight.
