PCV Valve for 392

Post by hemi4t »

I would like to add a PCV valve to my 392 but do not want to put it on the valve covers. I added a breather tube to the Hot heads finned aluminum valley cover as the original valley covers had in the front by the water crossover. I was thinking of adding a fitting to the oil cap at the back of valley cover and using an inline PCV valve. Anyone out there done anything like this? If so where can I get an inline PCV valve?

PCV valve

Seems like you should be able to get a push-in PCV valve,a rubber grommet, & drill the right size hole in the oil cap. If it sucks up oil you might have to insall a shield to the cap.

PCV Valve

Thanks for the reply. I thought about that and the oil mist in that area I think K&N has a housing that would act as a shield for the valve. I sure do not want to suck up any oil (bad for combustion).

Where the valley isn't open over the cam (unlike the 318/340) I think it shouln't be a problem.
