Ok .. I am new here and luv HEMI horsepower...
I got a couple buddies with a disagreement.. I am not getting into it.. (until I know the answer )
One says that the Hemi was owed by a different auto Manufacure in the 70's or 80's... course other one says he is full of.... well anyway..
can anybody help me be the smart one here...

All of this is true. The hemispherical head design is not patented or owned by any one manufacture. Chrysler as had a knack for marketing it in the 50's, 60's and today. Chrysler (now DC) does own the word "HEMI" as a trademark. My uncle had a Dodge Aries K with one of those 2.6 liter mitsu HEMIs in it. Leave it to Iacocca and crew for putting "HEMI" on a K car.
