Check Engine Light ON
Check engine light came on in my 2003 Ram 2500. Error code P0456 I beleive it is small EVAPPS leak. What do I do?
P0456 = Evaporative emission control system malfunction
Is the truck still under warranty? If so, go see a dealer.
If not, well, I would not know how to go abou fixing it.

OBDII trouble code P0456
The most common solution is to replace the gas cap.
If the problem arises again look for:
1. EVAP canister hose cracked or not connected
2. Purge or vent solenoid is defective
3. Vacuum leak somewhere around the engine.
If none of these common solutions work, then seek out your mechanic or dealer if under warranty.
I've fixed many cars having P0456 code with a $7 gas cap!
Also codes 440-442,455,457 all should be a cheap fix with a new gas cap.
Hope this helps
