Hemi Rims?

Post by scottm »

I got this email from a website visitor, and I have no idea.
Can you help me identify a hemi steel rim? I was at a swap meet today and someone who deals in rims told me a little about them. It has the 1/2 inch H on it and he also said something about the numbers by the valve stem hole. Any help would be appreciated.
If anyone has any more information, that would be cool.

I understand these "H" rims came on Super Bees
and Road Runners (if not more models) and they
are not HEMI only wheels. Although I'm still not
sure if there's anything that is noteworthy about
them or not. I will post if I get any more info...

If they're plain black rims, it's possible they came off a '68 package car. I recall reading since those cars were strictly racecars the factory shipped them out with plain old rims but supposedly they had some sort of different offset or something so they could fit on the a-body with the relocated spring. I kinda find this hard to believe but with those cars anythings possible.

You would have to post more information from the rim. Look on the inside and tell us the size.Next look near the valve stem and relate to use what is on both sides of the stem hole. This would tell use plenty about the date code of the rim. If there is a casting number under the valve stem post it also.
