Harmonic balancer for 241 Hemi

I have a 150 Horse 241 Hemi of a 54 Dodge. It does not have a harmonic balancer. Everything appears stock on the crank. It just has the v-belt pully. Some folks say I need a balancer? It seems to run fine as is. Any ideas? thanks Bob T.

I'm not sure about your model, but a lot of the old style hemis did not have harmonic balancers on them.

Thanks for the feedback Heminut. I have put 7000 miles on the engine since rebuild and it seems fine.
