oil pressure low
I have a 354 hemi...reuilt to some extend...orginal parts....started it up 50lbs dropped to 5/10lbs ...I would appreciate a check list of things to check which may have caused this. I put it in a '79 little red express, of coarse everything is brand new in truck EXCEPT the hemi. thanks Bill

Re: oil pressure low
I had a "79 "Express" brand new, wish I had it now.. I saw years ago in a magazine an "Express" with a 392 Hemi in it.
As for your oiling problem, pull the oil pump, possibly a stuck pressure relief valve, disassemble and clean it,maybe replace the whole thing. Also look for a loose or cracked oil pick-up pipe,I had no pressure on a "69 six-pack Bee I bought, turned out the oil pick-up pipe was cracked at the threads where it screwed into the block. Next thing I can think of is a badly trashed crank bearing, causing a major loss of pressure... Hear any engine knocking? Check for a bad oil pressure sending unit,or guage, these are easy and cheap to replace.
