1957 Dodge pickup

Post by RanKeh »

Hi, I am new here. I am wondering if anyoned can tell me what a running 331 hemi is worth? It runs fine but throws some blue smoke. Also it is in a 1957 pickup truck. Is that the right motor for that year dodge truck? Thanks for any info.

Year makes a huge differnce. The 54 & 55 4 bl engines are the highest, the 51-3 long tail blocks the least desirable. What do you have? You sure it's a 331 Chr? There should be a code on a flat in front of the valley pan.

a 1/4 ton should have a 315 or 325(?) Poly head engine. Heavier trucks could have a Dodge or Chrysler(with Dodge label) Hemi

Can you get the number off the front of the block? That should help us out.
