54 6-volt desoto starter

Post by mun539 »

i would like to keep it all original,is there a place to find a used or rebuilt 6-volt? when i do get it to run(very,very slow cranking) the engine runs perfect,took me 3-weeks to get it to run,generator and gauges all work perfect. i know it's cheaper to find a starter,previous owner said the starter has been rebuilt 3 times and in the process has lost parts, really would appreciate help on this one,thanks for your time and patience.

You've got this posted in 3 different forums here. You should check for responses instead of making posts in different forums. here's my response to one of your other posts;

You won't find a new 6-volt starter. I would look for someone to rebuild yours.
