Oilpan

Post by Goran »

Hi!
I have made a new oil pan again. I wanted some more space to the sides, for the oil to be thrown out, so I made a tray
that just fit between the frame legs on the car. The old pan has worked fine, but it was small because of the space for
the parking brake, etc, and a pan of this construction brings with it a lot more work to produce. I'm ashamed to admit that
"too much work" is a valid argument for doing something easier. :-?

This requires longer bolts.

And at last, on the car.

This oilpan 8 liters. I've driven 2000 miles with it and the oilpressure is surprisingly little better, or rather more stable,
presumably due to less air whipped into the oil as it can be thrown further out to the side of the crank. It also goes a
bit colder due to the larger cooling area under the car.
