Does any body know of a direct drive starter application for an early 426 with manual trans? A buddy of mine is telling me there is such a thing.

Early 426 Hemi starter for manual trans

The 1969 & older HEMI cars with a standard transmission all used a direct drive starter vs. the normal gear reduction starter. It was similar to the older Ford starters. 1970 & 1971 HEMI standard transmission cars used the normal gear reduction starter with an appropriate flywheel (Different number of teeth and gear pitch). All HEMI automatic cars used the normal gear reduction starter; early or late models. The factory changed to the gear reduction starter setup in 1970 because of the unreliability of the direct drive starter.
