Odd block stampings on 426 block

Post by HemiSatellite »

Hi, new member here, I have a 66-71 street hemi block with some stampings on the front pad that I'm not able to decipher. The block is an original street hemi casting #2468330-2, the casting date can't be seen as the block had been windowed and repaired directly under cylinder #5. What is stamped on the pad is ED426 E on the first line with 53701 on the second line. It also has WT for water test on it too. I thought that the letter closest to 426 would always be an H for hemi. Maybe this is a replacement block. Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
