About how many KM should you have on the truck before you change over to synthetic engine oil? Any ideas?

I changed to synthetic on our Hemi Ram at the first oil change (3000 miles). Been doing that in all my vehicles for several years. Except engines I build myself. I start them off with synthetic from the beginning.

Actually that’s a fallacy. There are several high performance engines that come from the factory with synthetic oil. Most are European high $$$ cars but one domestic that comes to mind was the Corvette ZL1.

The reason most manufacturers don't load synthetic in their cars is purely economic. Over several thousand cars the added expense of synthetic oil will add up and cut into their profit margin.

The Dodge Viper comes from the factory with Mobile 1.
It is also stated as required oil in the manual.

This is my first post on this forum! Howdy all!

Hi, NewB here. First post.
I got my 2004 Hemi 2500 in April. I changed to Amsoil synthetic
at 500 miles. I think it came with synthetic. I went to the salt flats
for Speed Week and I did`nt want to go up and back with factory oil.
