Houston Christian Car Show -- Mar 1, 2008 (Houston)

Post by scottm »

Also for those of you in the greater Houston area...

Get your motors running and head on down the Sam Houston Tollway to the Kempwood exit. On Saturday, March 1st, 2008 the Houston Christian High School Booster Club is sponsoring its Fourth Annual Antique, Classic and Special Interest Car Show. Car registration begins at 8 AM and the show, which is FREE to the public, runs from 10 AM to 3 PM at the high school.

If you missed the show in the past, Cruisin' Times called it "The one event you won't want to miss". There are usually 100 or more cars ranging in years form the 1920's to brand new Ferraris, Aston Martins and Lotus. There have been car clubs participating with what may be the largest number of Shelbys ever at an open car show to a huge display of Corvettes. This year you can expect more of the same, plus lots of Muscle Cars such as Camaros, Mustangs, Olds 442's, GTO's, Mopars, Vettes, and custom built Hot Rods. There may even be some race cars and custom bikes to go along with a Ford GT that is expected.

Visitors to the show will enjoy on-site concessions, merchandise sale, a popular DJ playing rock n’roll, and vendor displays. For entrants, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be presented for at least a dozen car classes plus the popular People's Choice Awards.

All proceeds from the show benefit the athletic teams and support groups at Houston Christian High School, where great things are happening. We are blessed this year with our largest student population ever – over 420 students. The needs of the Athletic Department are also growing as our student athletes experience success in every sport, including some at the state and national level.
