The Mopar crowd is as loyal as you’ll find in the car community. These guys and girls take this stuff seriously, and for good reason. The Dodge, Plymouth and Chrysler vehicles of years past are special pieces of muscle car history, and the modern era of high performance Mopars follow directly in their footsteps. An up and coming event in the Mopar world is the Southeast Moparty Picnic, an annual event that caters to all manner of Mopar enthusiast. It has grown into a two-day event encompassing drag racing and a huge indoor / outdoor car show at Camp Jordan in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The park is massive and provides plenty of room for a cruise in, a swap meet, and an indoor display area. This year, event organizer Ken Meredith and his crew of volunteers packed the event hall with super rare muscle cars, historic drag cars and more. This year’s theme was Road Runners, and there were dozens on display, including a bunch of Hemi cars. Overall, more than 300 cars participated in the Southeast Moparty Picnic. The range of cars was incredible, from a fully restored 1954 Chrysler limousine to a pristine Dodge Daytona Shelby Turbo Z and everything in between. Chargers, Challengers, Dusters, Valiants and more covered the cruise in area, and we enjoyed the variety of restored cars, modified cars and of course, drag cars. From station wagons to street freaks, the Moparty Picnic had the right mixture to put a smile on any Mopar guy’s face.

Inside, lunch was available, with all proceeds going to the Greater Chattanooga Colon Cancer Foundation. The entire event is a charity for this foundation, as it means a lot of to the Meredith family. The event is a labor of love for Ken, and all of the folks who chip in to make it happen. That goes for the sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and of course, the participants who drive hundreds of miles to take part in the annual event. Take a look at our favorite cars from the 2018 Southeast Moparty Picnic, and check out the wild colors and killer engines that only the Chrysler Corporation could provide.

This definitely looks like a pretty good Mopar show. I need to go sometime!
