1/4 mile time (video attached)

Post by R/T Jack »

My Challenger has run a best of 11.96 @ 113.9. I received a warning that I can not run it in the quarter without a roll bar. I have since started running it at 1/8th mile tracks. 7.49 is the time for roll bars in the 1/8th mile and my 1/8th mile times are in the 7.60's. It is a 426 .030 over rebuilt by Ray Barton. It has TTI headers, 3" exhaust w/Flowmaster 3 chambers, Dana 60 4.10 and it weighs 4070 w/driver.

That is a really nice Challenger. Awesome car.
Do you have any plans for adding a roll cage?

Scott, The car is an original 440 Sixpack car one of 161 made with the torqueflite. Even though I put a Hemi in it, I don't want to modify it beyond the point that it could be put back to original if I ever had the desire. So I am running at an 1/8th mile track now and might run at some higher elevation 1/4 mile tracks where I know it won't dip into the elevens.

Here is a short video of my car running against a 68 Charger during time trials at Woodburn (OR) dragstrip.

Sorry the video is no longer on the web. I have run a new best of 11.85 at 113.9 at Pacific Raceways in Kent, WA at the Goodguys Nostalgia Nationals back in September.
