The second-generation Dodge Dakota was an honest work truck. It was a mid-size pickup with mild styling and a host of modest engine choices that got the job done. This one, powered by an 8.0-liter V10 from a Dodge Viper, is uh, a little bit different.

From the outside, most people wouldn't give this Dakota a second glance if they saw it parked on the street. It's a sport model, with stock wheels and some sweet racing stripes. Underneath, though, lurks a Viper's engine and six-speed transmission, blessing this puny pickup with a claimed 350 rear-wheel horses and 460 lb-ft of torque.

In addition to the hilariously over-the-top engine swap, the seller says the truck features upgraded brakes, a Hotchkis suspension, and extra cooling to handle all of that newfound performance.

The seller claims the truck has seen over 20,000 miles since the conversion, meaning any potential problems have likely already been discovered, and hopefully, fixed.

It's listed on Craigslist right now in Boise for the low low price of $23,000. If you're looking for a sleeper truck that can haul a trailer and blow the doors off most cars on the road, this blue Dakota might be the one for you.
That is a great combination! 8)
