Valve cover studs/bolts leak?

Post by Moparlee »

Valve cover studs/bolts. I've noticed that they could leak water, at least on the intake side. Has anybody had problems with this? Do you have to use some kind of sealer around the bolts or studs which ever you decided to use? This is on 392 heads. I havn't noticed on the others to know if they are like that or not. Thanks for your time?

My 330 desoto valve cover bolt/stud holes are drilled into the water jacket. I just used some sealer on the threads when the engine was assembled. Never checked my 392, however sealant was used there also! Hope this helps
