Factory Cam Specks?

Post by Moparlee »

Does anybody have the information what the factory cam specks were in all the different 392's that were put in production? Is it documented somewhere?

:o nobody knows? Chrysler didn't document this information? :( I would like to compare numbers on cams when trying to select a cam to be able to come up with a close horse power comparison. I think on one site it showed the 325 horse 392 to have a cam that was .388 at the intake, is this right? That seems really small doesn't it, and have 430 of torgue?

Lee, I miked the lobes on both of the stock cams that came out of the two CE57 392's I have. At a 1.5 to 1 rocker arm ratio they both would have had .388 lift at the valves, both intake and exhaust. Hope this helps.

392heminut,
That's on the single four barrel motors right? Also they were hydraulics are they not? I wonder what the 10 to 1 motors were? I read that those were also solid lifter motors and I think that I read somewhere that they were real close to having a lift of a 340 which was around .444 I do believe. I wish I new where I had found that. Thanks again 392heminut.

Factory service manuals for the individual cars that have those motors have the information.
